ATTIC INSULATION  Repair & INSTALLATION SERVICES

Let Us Help Re-Insulate Your Home with Blow-in R60 Insulation

In some cases, wildlife may enter through the attic and live there, leaving a hefty mess to clean up after. Leaving droppings, tearing up wiring and ruining insulation are some of the things they’ve been known for.

At SOS Wildlife Control, we provide safe, efficient blow-in fiberglass insulation services to restore your home. Using an advanced blow-in machine and hose, our team installs an effective, year-round attic insulation solution that:

  • Maintains its shape: It won't settle over time.

  • Saves you money: It keeps its energy-saving R-value to lower your utility bills.

  • Installs quickly: The process is fast, though timing depends on your home's size.

OUR INSULATION INSTALLION PROCESS

1. FULL INSPECTION OF THE INSIDE OF YOUR ATTIC

During this process we will fully inspect your attic to check for animal droppings, mold and etc.  Once a year the attic should be checked for wet spots and signs of degradation.

If your home is older than 10 years this is also the time to have your attic inspected.  After the video assessments with you we will determine if your attic needs any insulation replacement.

2. REMOVAL OF ALL OLD INSULATION IN ATTIC

We will remove and clean out all of the old insulation before adding new ones. Please be wary of this cleaning process. There are companies out there that will just add more insulation instead of fully replacing it.

We will start vacuuming your attic and removing all the old insulation and garbage in the attic. All the garbage will be properly bagged and stored in a bin for proper disposal.

3. Reporting and feedback

Once the attic is completely cleaned we will provide you with a video showing you the work that was completed to ensure that you are happy with the results.

We use accurate laser measuring tools to ensure that every part of your attic is properly filled.

4. INSTALLING NEW R60 INSULATION

After cleaning we will fill your attic with new R60 blow-in insulation. We use R60, this helps insulate against the extreme cold weather we get in Toronto.

If you are living or moving into a home that is 10 years or older you may want to have your attic inspected to ensure you have proper clean Insulation.

Is Your Attic Insulation Doing Its Job?

While attic insulation can last for decades, it eventually degrades and loses its energy efficiency. If your home is over 10 years old, it’s time for a professional inspection to ensure your space is properly protected.

Older homes in Southern Ontario typically have R30 to R40 insulation. While that might cut it elsewhere, our climate is extreme—ranging from frigid -30°C winters to scorching +30°C summers. To keep your home comfortable year-round and drastically lower your utility bills, we recommend upgrading to at least R60 insulation.

The EPA estimates that proper insulation saves homeowners an average of 15% on heating and cooling costs. However, because Ontario’s weather fluctuates so drastically, local homeowners who upgrade their insulation often see savings of 18% to 20% on their energy bills.

The Hidden Dangers in Your Attic

Damaged or compromised insulation isn't just an energy drain—it can also become a serious health hazard.

1. Wildlife Contamination & Health Risks

If animals have breached your attic, they leave behind dangerous biohazards:

  • Raccoon Feces (Roundworm): Raccoon droppings can carry roundworm eggs. If accidentally ingested or inhaled by humans or pets, this parasite can cause severe, life-threatening neurological issues.

  • Bat Droppings (Histoplasmosis): Bat guano is highly toxic. Inhaling the airborne spores from disturbed droppings can cause histoplasmosis, a serious respiratory disease that can be fatal if it spreads beyond the lungs.

  • Rodent Waste (Hantavirus): Mice and rats carry Hantavirus in their urine, saliva, and droppings. When rodents move around, these particles become airborne in confined spaces like attics, posing a severe risk to your family.

2. Mold and Moisture

Wet insulation completely loses its ability to regulate temperature. Because attic insulation is incredibly difficult to dry out, trapped moisture quickly turns into toxic mold growth, compromising your home’s air quality.
